Searching for the perfect GPA
After looking at several "cheap" GPA restoration projects ... ... across ...
... the world.

I finally found a very decent GPA a couple of miles from home.

Getting the GPA started again
With help from very dedicated friends (merci Christophe, ... ... Guy, Pierre, Jean-Charles et Thierry).
And after several hours spent in very uncomfortable positions ... ... replacing the engine, and rebuilding transmission and brakes ...
Enjoying the GPA
... my GPA was ready for the 2004 Paris auto show, as a copy of Ben Carlin's Half Safe. In memory of Half Safe picture taken in the 1950's on the Champs Elyées; with my friend Thierry.
Fortunately, by June 2004, my GPA was back to OD color, ready to participate to the 60th DDay celebrations (here in Utah Beach) ... ... and take the kids for a ride
Testing the GPA on rover Seine across Paris Following Thierry's amphibious Gaz; the kids look happy don't they?
Restoration 2010
After removing a lot of styrofoam (previous owner) on the back compartment ... ... I discovered substantial damage of the frame and hull
I then decided to launch into a full restoration; taking the GPA entirely apart. I took the hull on wheels to my friend Pierre, who finished to dismantle the GPA.
Pierre had built an amazing frame "guide" for his own GPA. Here is my frame in his guide. Pierre is now in the process of replacing the rotten frame parts.
Kids' stuff
For those of you who like models, here is how my friend Lulu imagined my GPA. Lulu's GPA is 40 inches long, and all parts were hand made from raw material, based on photos !
The GPA also inspired our son Arthur ... ..., who just turned 7, which explains the spelling options for "Jeep Amphibie"
